Douglas Gass

Dougie is Blink's Director of Flight Operations & Chief Pilot. He is responsible for Blink's flight operations and pilot selection and development.

Prior to joining Blink, Dougie was British Airways' most senior Training Captain. He joined BEA in the early 1970s after graduating from The College of Air Training at Hamble. After the formation of British Airways in 1974, he continued his career flying the Hawker Siddeley Trident and the Lockheed Tristar, on domestic, European and worldwide routes. He gained his first command during 1989 on the McDonnell Douglas DC-10, operating from London Gatwick. His final ten years with BA were as Senior Captain on the 747-400 fleet, based at London Heathrow.

Soon after his promotion to Captain, Dougie commenced a long and successful career in Flight Training, becoming a CAA Instrument Rating Examiner in 1990. He has been involved in all forms of route checking, training both technical and non-technical skills and in the examination of pilots, for British Airways and other international airlines.
